Why You Need a Blog

Why you need a Blog

Many believe that, just as few companies could afford to be without good website design, the corporate Blog is rapidly becoming a required item. In time they may even replace more static, brochure-like home pages.  I could probably go on for ages, but here's a few good reasons why they're a good idea;

  • They offer great opportunities for Search Engine Optimisation (SEO). The human interaction, reviews and increased linking all combine to provide a powerful, low-cost exercise in positive SEO ranking.
  • Done properly, they can give your company ‘personality’. Ironically, making you seem more human and less corporate, is endearing to many would-be customers.
  • They are a great recruitment tool, even making your business more appealing as a 'cool' or more cutting-edge place to work.
  • They're a great way to demonstrate your knowledge and expertise - without being too stuffy or sales like - so they're good for credibility too.
  • Currently, there’s essentially a 'first-mover' opportunity, as only a small percentage of companies have caught the Blog Bug.

So as well as many other real benefits, as a marketing tool alone you should enthusiastically embrace this new way of communicating. Great Blogs have changed companies' fortunes and individuals' lives.  I'm sure they'll also naturally become the must-have tool for companies that might not have big marketing budgets.
